The Trump Administration continues to attack immigrants and their families. The latest proposed policy targets legal immigrants.
Use of public assistance – Medicaid, Medicare Part D, Food Stamps, and other programs such as public housing – can lead to denial of green card status and possible deportation. A person’s health, age, education, ability to speak English, and number of children will also be used to decide who gets a green card.
It is cruel and un-American to force people to choose between food and health care for their families or keeping their families together. Millions of Asians and Pacific Islanders would never have become Americans under these rules.
We need to speak up and empower Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to take action against this policy. This policy is bad for our economy. This policy is bad for our health.
Send in your comment to demand that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security stop this regulation.
